All new Regional Franchisors are asked to attend a four day training course, which is generally held at the Jim's Group Support office. The course covers all relevant business skills, including franchise sales and selection, resolving disputes and insurance. There is a session called ‘Jim’s Ethos’ which deals with the Jim’s Group Values as detailed below: in particular egalitarianism, customer service, and respect for Franchisees. This is normally presented by Jim Penman himself.
Franchisors are also asked to attend the Franchisee initial training course, which covers customer service issues and administration and business skills, plus some practical on-the-road training.
Ongoing Franchisor training is supplied at National Conferences, focusing on business & communication skills specific to running a Regional Franchise. Conferences, as mentioned in the information brochure, are currently held twice a year.
